Whatcom Museum: Acts of Healing and Repair
This piece has been exhibited widely, including:
She: An Expression of Womanhood, Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center, Solomons, Maryland
This exhibit invited artists to dive into the vast and often contentious conversation about the meaning of she, creating a rich exploration of womanhood celebrating and embracing different voices, experiences, and interpretations. Winner of Juror's Award.
This piece was also a semi finalist in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery’s triennial Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition, Washington, DC.,
And won first place in From All Sides - National Juried Sculpture Exhibition, National Association of Women Artists, New York, NY.
Rocky Mountain Biennial
Museum of Art- Fort Collins
This juried regional exhibition features 106 artworks by 58 artists from the Intermountain West. The work was selected by Juror Leah Ollman of the Los Angeles Times and Art in America.
An earlier version of this piece was exhibited at North Charleston Riverfront Park during the 14th annual National Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition. Twelve sculptures by artists from eight states were juried into that exhibit.

It was an honor to exhibit with Sedona painter Adele Seronde, Cazaubon Seronde, who hails from Flagstaff and Sun City artist, Eveline Horrelle Dailey.
Our opening reception featured readings from Tom Fleischner's edited anthology, Nature, Love Medicine: Essays on Wildness and Wellness by Tom, me, and Melanie Bishop, as well as Adele Seronde reading poems from War on Two Worlds; Peace on One, and Eveline Horelle Dailey from her memoir, Let's Take a Short Walk.
We had several great events planned during the run of the show - a poetry reading: Celebrating Nature and Spirit o a panel discussion: Healing with Nature a closing celebration and dance.

Uranium poisoning was known to mine owners and the U.S. Government but Navajo miners were not provided safety training or personal protection; not even dust masks. I shared information on this history with people all over the country and asked them to, while acknowledging deep sorrow, anger, responsibility - and the fact that everyone on the planet is, in some way, downwind - record a message of hope, active peace, and honoring the earth, our source of life. This mushroom cloud is their pledge that the future will be different. The threatening shape disintegrates as it forms.
With appreciation to over 300 artists from Hawaii to Florida, including students from the following schools: Prescott College, Pratt Institute, Northern Arizona University, Plymouth State University, Highline High School, Smith Valley School. Special gratitude to the children at Bluff Elementary School after school program who made turtle shells and overwhelmingly voted to color them green, and at Cedar Tree Montessori School, who put lots of glitter on the birds.

The National Association of Women Artists formed on January 31, 1889 to create greater opportunity for professional women artists in a male-dominated art world. The founders of NAWA envisioned an organization which would promote higher standards for women artists and provide them with the opportunity to exhibit their work. I was honored to be accepted into their ranks in the fall of 2016 and to be included with many other fine women artists in this annual members show.

Smith and Vallee Gallery's annual Objectification exhibit
Smith & Vallee Gallery represents the finest established and emerging artists
across the Northwest and beyond. Located in the historic town of Edison,
Washington. The gallery is housed in a restored, turn-of-the-century school
house. The exhibition space has a beautiful hundred- year-old wood floor
and excellent natural light. Landscape and Birds and Unseen will be in this exhibit.
The exhibit opens with a reception on Saturday, December 3 from 5-8 PM.
Prescott College 50th AnniversaryAlumni Art Retrospective
That is Prayer for a Broken Mandala in the top row, second from right. Here is a pictures of the installation. I love the shadows here. I have two other sculptures and am in very good company in this beautiful show honoring the arts at Prescott College.
Quagga is in the NAWA exhibit. A Quagga is an extinct subspecies of zebra that lived in South Africa. Said to be wild and lively, Quaggas were once found in great numbers. The last, a female, lived in an Amsterdam zoo from 1867 1883.

Public Library annual national juried exhibition. The jurors sought works that "embrace unconventional or repurposed materials and take the viewer to a place of uninhibited whimsy and wonder." Free Child and Quagga were exhibited in this show. Here is a link to the catalog:
Threads
“Threads” was an exhibition that presented the versatility and innovative use of fiber in contemporary art. Historically, fiber art has been viewed as “women’s work”, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting. Contemporary artists have moved beyond the gender specific perceptions with innovative approaches to using fiber materials in art. Juror, Kay Khan of Santa Fe, NM (www.kaykhanart.com) has selected art from entries across the country creating a diverse exhibit from wall hangings to sculpture to large scale installations. Artists from twenty different states are represented in this exhibit.Threads was on view in beautiful, Tubac, Arizona through November 17, 2013.For more information see http://tubacarts.org

It asked artists how we represent our degrading environment and its accelerating rate of change with images and projects that go beyond romancing nature or mourning the loss of the world as we have known it? How do we convey human responsibility - the source the designation of our epoch as the "anthropocene" - for our changing world, or encourage recognition of that responsibility in direct actions or participatory/communal projects in response to specific environmental challenges.
