Welcome!  You will find here images of my sculptures and paintings as well as descriptions of collaborative community projects.  This work is the way I honor the beauty and mystery of the world and is the medium through which I engage issues of environmental loss and preservation.
Putting things together - solving problems of materials, placement, and attachment - has always been deeply satisfying to me. I love tactile interaction with materials; tying knots, the slick and stick of paint on canvas, the sheen of antique silk, the almost lacey edge of rusted metal, the stories in wood and stone.

I particularly enjoy the patina of old things that possess a resonance of memory and time.  I make sculpture from old, found things, tranforming and combining them with objects from nature to create art that explores grace and beauty within the ordinary and responds to questions of what is valued in our time.

Like many artists, I have done a lot of different  "day jobs" and my path to this work has been interestingly crooked. My process in the studio is informed and inspired by time spent as a park ranger, teacher, gallery manager, environmental advocate, and mother.  Take a look at my resume by clicking here.
